DIGITAL UPDATE -
We have started receiving the equipment for our digital upgrade.
A new stage was installed in preparation for the new silver screen and 7.0 sound system. Wiring is also being installed for surround speakers on the sides and back of the auditorium.
We recently completed the installation of a hard wired internet connection to the projection booth for the new digital server.
We have a large piece of equipment we need to get into the projection booth in the next few weeks and will be working to solution the problem. Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.
Along with the digital and sound upgrade, the roof of the Isis is in need of replacement. There are approximately 10 to 12 layers of tar paper roofs, along with a failing deck. With proposals in had, we are looking at a $36,000 cost, with some additional expenses to replace the failing deck, ($2,000 to $4,000) which can't be determined until the 10 to 12 lavers of roof have been removed. A brick chimney may need to be rebuilt as well.
We received a few thousand dollars in donations above the cost of the digital upgrade which will go to help off set this expense. However, we could use help.
Small town theatres don't have the crowds to support upgrades. We can maintain the business and keep it running, but upgrades are not possible. I wish I could do it on my own but I can't. That's humbling. The miracle is how Crete helped us raise the money for the equipment. I'm searching for a solution to our roof dilema. Loans need to have a backing of income, and without a profit, we face the challenge of how to pay for a much needed major expense. The roof/ceiling awaits our help and we hope to do something soon!!! People ask, and I want to share the situation. Thank you Crete for caring about our community.
